Exceptional Driver Training has been authorized by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) as a Third-Party Skills Testing (TPST) driving school. We can administer the official DPS Authorized Road Test to anyone who has met the state requirements and is ready to get their Texas driver's license! You may take the driving test with us even if you failed with DPS.

• Evening and Weekend Testing
• Testing in Exceptional Driver Training Vehicle

Required Documents for Testing

You will not be able to take the road test without these things on test day:

Teen Drivers 16-17 Years of Age

• You must be at least 16 years old.
• You must have held a valid Texas Learners Permit for at least 6 months.

• Have a valid DE-964 Texas Driver Education Certificate that says "For Drivers License Only"

• Certificate of Completion from the Impact Texas Teen Drivers (ITTD) Video
• Video must have been completed within 90 days of test date.

Adult Drivers 18-24 Years of Age

• Have a valid DE-964 or ADE-1317 that shows you completed a Texas Driver Education Course
• Have a valid Texas Learner License or B-restricted Driver's License
• Certificate of completion for the DPS Impact Texas Adult Drivers (ITAD) video
• Video must have been completed within 90 days of test date.

Adult Drivers 25 Years of Age or Older

• Have a valid Texas Learner License or B-restricted Driver's License
• Certificate of completion for the DPS Impact Texas Adult Drivers (ITAD) video
• Video must have been completed within 90 days of test date.
